The odds of the Liberal Democrats winning the Oldham East and Saddleworth Parliamentary seat have changed, with the Lib Dems now running neck and neck with Labour, according to top bookmakers Ladbrokes.

"This just reflects what we have been hearing on the doorstep," said Elwyn Watkins, who is standing in the seat for the Liberal Democrats.

"So many people have told me that they have had enough of Labour and they know that the Conservatives are well out of the race around here. A lot of people are lending me their vote to make sure we get a real change and a fresh start.

"With the two parties running so close in Oldham East and Saddleworth, it's going to be a photo-finish on May 6th!"

As of 20th April 2010, Ladbrokes put Labour and the Liberal Democrats each on 5/6, with the Conservatives trailing behind at 40/1.
